How does it work?
This resurfacing treatment contains 20% Salicylic Acid. That reduce the redness and inflammation associated with acne, preventing future breakouts. By targeting blemish-causing bacteria, the treatment effectively releases hardened sebum whilst supressing oil. It’s safe for red, inflamed acne skin that shows signs of sensitivity.
The Salicylic Resurfacer treatment is very effective at reducing inflammation triggered by breakouts and the redness that blemishes can cause. It penetrates all the way to the follicle, providing deep exfoliation and helping to release hardened sebum.
By controlling oil secretion whilst allowing moisture retention, the skin is more balanced.
The soothing Skinasensyl® in this treatment allows more sensitive skin types to benefit from such a high percentage of Salicylic Acid (20%). You don’t need to worry about it causing more redness.
Will it work for my skin type?
This treatment will deeply exfoliate, penetrating right down to the follicle, controls inflamed pustules and redness from blemishes, and works as an effective anti-inflammatory to boost the skins protection against environmental factors.
What areas of my body can be treated?
What results can I expect?
During the treatment, there will be a sensation of mild tingling and heat. This is normal. It’s caused by the high percentage of Salicylic Acid in the treatment. This should subside quite quickly.
Dryness/peeling may start two to four days after the treatment and can last up to ten days; however, it usually diminishes after a week.
You’ll need to prepare your skin for this treatment using DermaQuest recommended products. Depending on your skin type, you’ll need to prepare for between two to six weeks. It’s important that your skin is in good health prior to this peel, so you’ll be advised to use homecare products to strengthen, hydrate and protect the skin’s barrier before starting your clear skin journey.
We recommend this preparation for your treatment to ensure you experience minimal downtime. It will also help you achieve the best long-lasting results.

How many treatments will I need?
We generally recommend a total of three treatments – one treatment per month. However, this will depend on the individual.
Following the aftercare advice and using a great homecare kit is essential. They’re the key to maintaining your results. We recommend a hydrating serum, such as DermaQuest’s B5 Hydrating Serum to bring back the glow and supple look to the skin. In addition, use an advanced day and night routine such as the Obagi360. It is also important to introduce everyday sun protection combined with a retinol in the evening to resurface and refine the skin.
Q: How much downtime is there after treatments?
A: There is no long-term damage to the skin from peels; however, you may have some downtime and peeling with some of our intermediate treatments. Your practitioner will explain the possibility of downtime with you prior to starting the treatment. They will also discuss the possibility of working up to stronger peels if you want to increase them gradually. Using the recommended products before treatment will also help minimise the downtime. They ensure the skin is ready and safe before treatment.
Q: How do I know if I’m suitable?
A: Before starting treatment, a full consultation will be carried out with the practitioner. You’ll discuss what is involved before, during and after the treatment and to assess the skin type and acne grade. This treatment is only suitable for grade 1, 2 and 3. A test patch will need to be carried out behind the ear and left alone for 48 hours; once we know the skin if fine we will be able to confirm suitability.
Depending on the skin type, you’ll have to prepare for two to six weeks with a few products. This is to make sure the skin is at its best, minimise unwanted side effects and get the most benefits from the treatment.
Q: Does this treatment hurt?
A: You will feel warmth as each layer dries. This only lasts for a minute and shows that the treatment is working.
Q: How is it different from other treatments?
A: It is great for acne breakouts and sensitive skin too.
Q: What happens during the treatment?
A: Your skin is thoroughly cleansed before the solution is applied. You will have up to three layers of peel applied during a single treatment. They each creating a short burst of warmth as they dry. The treatment takes 45 minutes in total.
What our clients say
It dried out my breakouts, and my skin felt smoother and clearer. Spots that were red and inflamed looked calmer and less aggravated. Very pleased with results.
