How does it work?
Laser vein treatment works by using a specific wavelength light over the skin to heat the blood in the small red surface capillaries. Once the red veins have been treated, the vein will show visible signs of damage. By damaging the capillary walls, gradually, over two to six weeks, the capillary breaks down and the body’s lymphatic system will remove it.
Will it work for my skin type?
Laser Vein removal will work on most skin types. A consultation will determine you suitability for treatment. If the veins are too large to have treatment with laser vein removal, we can recommend an alternative treatment with our medical team called Sclerotherapy.
Why should I have this treatment?
This treatment helps with concerns such as facial telangiectasia, spider veins and cherry spots (sometimes known as Campbell de Morgan). After a successful treatment, the vessels will appear to disperse and the initial red line of the vein will look as though it has been smudged. After the area has healed the skin will look more presentable again, so you ‘ll feel more confident about exposing your vein-free skin.
What areas of my body can be treated?
The most commons areas for treatment are veins around the nose and cheeks; and leg veins.
What results can I expect?
After the recommend number of sessions, your veins will be visibly reduced.
If your skin has been exposed to the sun within 4 weeks before your treatment, let your practitioner know prior to your treatment. We can’t treat anyone with a tan – real or fake. If you’re tanned, please contact your clinic at least 48 hours prior to your next appointment to seek advice on how you should proceed.
You must stop any acid based products such as Retinol, Glycolic and Salicylic at least 1 – 2 weeks before each treatment.
If you have been prescribed or are taking any new medications or herbal supplements, or if anything medically changes let your practitioner know prior to your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments will vary according the severity of the veins. On average, between 3 to 6 treatments are needed. Treatments are done on a timed basis, and this will be determined at your consultation, depending on the number of veins to be treated.
When planning your appointment ensure you have no events where the area to be treated will be exposed for 2 – 4 weeks after treatment. We recommend that you use aloe vera or witchazel to help heal and hydrate the skin. SPF is also recommended to areas that may be exposed to protect skin from the UV rays, such as Heliocare.
We also recommend that you avoid any strenuous exercises, swimming, steam rooms or saunas, for a couple of days following treatment.
Q: How much downtime is there after treatments?
A: The healthier your skin, the quicker it can heal. Usually the results can be seen a couple of weeks after treatment. However, as we are heating the blood vessel, darkening of the vessel isn’t uncommon and often the veins can look more pronounced until the skin has broken the vessels down. Do avoid sun exposure on the treated area.
Q: How do I know if I’m suitable?
A: We’ll take you through a complete health review to check for your suitability.
Q: Is this treatment safe?
A: We pride ourselves on having highly skilled, experienced practitioners who carry out this treatment. The machine that we use is an FDA approved device for the treatment of thread veins,
Q: Does Laser Vein Removal treatment hurt?
A: A cooling gel is applied before the treatment and cold air is used whilst the treatment is taking place. The treatment feels like a small flick of an elastic band.
