SKIN TREATMENT

Both men and women have their own rituals and routines when it comes to upkeeping their appearance, and this is especially true regarding their genital area.

More men are opting for professional pubic hair removal methods and are seeking ways to stretch that time in-between shaves for a long as possible. Some are even seeing permanent hair removal as a long-term investment: one that saves time, avoids razor burn, ingrown hairs and shaving rash.

Others see male pubic hair removal as a way to increase sensitivity and sensation during sex, or even as an opportunity to improve the odour of their genital area, as pubic hair traps sweat, oil and bacteria – it is no wonder a smoother look can improve freshness.

Some men choose to remove their pubic hair to meet their own, or their partners, aesthetic preferences.

Traditional Pubic Hair Removal Methods

When it comes to hair removal methods, there are many options available to choose from and each will depend on your preference and desired outcome.

The most traditional methods of pubic hair removal are shaving and trimming – where there are many tools to facilitate the sculpting, contouring and altering of your genital area. These methods are relatively low risk, unless you accidentally nip the skin or forget to use shaving cream, and act as a fast, temporary way of removing any unwanted pubic hair.

If you shave regularly, always moisturise and exfoliate for a couple of days afterwards to rehydrate the shaved area, maintain softness and prevent ingrown hairs.

Waxing is also another manual, at-home treatment for male pubic hair removal and although it will last longer than shaving, it is the more painful option that requires correct technique to be truly effective. The risk of wax burn and irritation is also higher if the waxing isn’t done in the right way.

How to Remove Pubic Hair Without Shaving or Waxing

If you’re looking for a way to remove male pubic hair without shaving or waxing, you could try hair removal cream – one that is formulated especially for the genital area and effective on your hair colour. This, however, would not be the best option for someone with sensitive skin.

There are multiple professional treatments available which would suit somebody looking for permanent pubic hair removal with a less painful procedure and visible results.

Our most popular hair removal methods all involve light and heat energy to target the hair follicles and prevent future growth. These treatments are:

  • Laser Hair Removal: to directly target the individual hairs; suitable for all skin types
  • IPL: to target broader areas of skin; limited to paler skin tones
  • Electrolysis: for removing any unwanted fine, light hair

Best Way to Remove Male Pubic Hair Permanently

For permanent male pubic hair removal, we recommend Laser Hair Removal which can be used as a way to achieve your desired sculpt – whether you want to subtly contour or impress with a full Brazilian – LHR guarantees long-lasting results.

What makes laser treatment the most effective procedure when it comes to pubic hair removal, is the combination of both technology and knowledge of hair growth patterns. Our practitioners will expertly identify which stage your hair is in and modify your sessions to coincide with when the hair will be most responsive to the laser.

The hair growth cycle

Our experts seek to perform the treatments during the Anagen phase of the hair growth cycle as this when the hair follicle is actively growing and most pigmented which will produce the best results. The hand-held device used during the treatment is kind to the sensitive skin around the pubic area and can be an effective removal method for any dark, highly pigmented hair.

Our great value options give you the flexibility and control to design your own treatment path depending on what would most meet your hair removal goals.

How to Remove Ingrown Pubic Hair

Pubic hair is often coarse and curly, which increases the likelihood of developing ingrown hairs. This is often the result of manual hair removal methods like shaving.

As the genital area is sensitive, ingrown hairs in this region can be very painful and are best prevented by avoiding shaving for a couple of days. If your ingrown hair gets infected, it is best to not attempt to remove the hair. Instead, use an anti-septic cream and ask your pharmacist for advice.

If you cannot see the ingrown area protruding from the skin’s surface, wait a few days whilst the hair grows. If you can see the ingrown hair, and it is not infected, apply warm water to the area first and use a tweezer to free the trapped hair in one quick movement.

Do not continue to pick out the hair as, if done correctly, the whole follicle would have already become loose. Wash the area afterwards and keep clean until the raised area heals completely.

To prevent further ingrown hairs, we recommend always shaving with shaving cream, changing your razor head regularly and moisturising afterwards to prevent irritation and razor burn. If ingrown hairs remain, discontinue traditional hair removal methods and switch to professional ones, such as Laser Hair Removal.

Key things to remember

  • Grooming habits are nothing to be embarrassed about
  • Removing pubic hair can increase sexual sensation, improve odour and improve the appearance of your genital area
  • Laser Hair Removal is a very effective hair removal solution that will last for a very long time. It doesn’t cause ingrown hairs, razor burn and is suitable for sensitive skin and most hair types
  • Shaving and trimming are only temporary solutions to hair removal and are time consuming
  • Laser Hair Removal is an investment for smoother, hair-free skin

How Profhilo Compares to Other Treatments

Profhilo
SKIN TREATMENT

Profhilo has become increasingly popular in recent years. It’s a more affordable, safe, and long-lasting option than lotions and treatments, helping to plump and rejuvenate the skin. But how does Profhilo compare to other popular skin injectable treatments?

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is the first injectable treatment for skin laxity and crepiness based on hyaluronic acid (HA). It’s a skin-rejuvenation treatment that gives you a radiant, youthful appearance by supporting the development of collagen and elastin and greatly minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

It has one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market, and works to stimulate and moisturise the skin while also remodelling ageing and sagging tissue. Profhilo is appealing because, unlike dermal fillers, it does not change the shape of the face; instead, it creates a fresh, natural look while softening fine lines and wrinkles.

Click here to discover more about the best-selling treatment.

Where can I get Profhilo?

Profhilo is especially effective at treating loose skin around the neck, cheeks, and jowls, as well as other areas where injectables are notoriously difficult to treat, such as:

  • Forehead
  • Temples
  • Mouth and chin lines
  • Neck, chest, and décolletage
  • Hands
  • Upper arms

Click here to find out more.

Is Profhilo permanent?

Because Profhilo was designed to work with your body’s natural activity, it is not a long-term solution. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule that aids in the retention of moisture in the skin by encouraging collagen and elastin formation.

As a result, the Profhilo that has been injected gradually degrades over time. The effects of your Profhilo treatment can last for up to six months, depending on the individual.

Profhilo compared to other fillers

The injected gel in classic filler procedures such as Juvederm stays in place and volumises the area. Profhilo, on the other hand, increases collagen and elastin formation in the face rather than filling up specific areas.

Profhilo restores aged tissue without volumisation by working in the epidermis, dermis, and superficial fat compartments. It is a regenerative anti-ageing treatment that reverses the ageing process through bio remodelling of the skin, rather than being passive like other skin booster therapies.

Profhilo improves skin hydration and fine wrinkles faster after injection because hyaluronic acid is replenished in the skin. Skin tightening and elasticity benefits are visible after treatment. Profhilo is the only HA filler that does this.

Can you have Profhilo and anti-ageing injectables together?

You can get anti-ageing treatments and other fillers in the same location as Profhilo, but it’s not recommended.

Anti-ageing injectables can be used to lessen forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet, and Profhilo can be done simultaneously to target skin laxity of the lower face because it is more successful in addressing expression lines.

Can you have Profhilo and fillers together?

Profhilo and Dermal Fillers can be combined to improve brightness, plumpness and give a more youthful appearance. If you have dermal fillers in your cheeks or jaw, you must wait at least two weeks before getting Profhilo injections.

Dermal fillers provide a lifting and volumising effect and are usually utilised to augment a specific area. They do increase the skin’s radiance, but Profhilo offers a more comprehensive approach for overall improvement.

SKIN TREATMENT

Profhilo has grown in popularity in recent years and is excellent for treating skin that lacks volume and suppleness. It’s a cost-effective, safe, and long-lasting alternative to skin lotions and treatments. So, if you want to restore your skin’s youthful appearance and feel, Profhilo could be the solution you’re looking for.

Wondering where you can have Profhilo? Read on to learn more.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a bio-remodeling substance. It’s made from stabilised hyaluronic acid, which is injected into the skin to minimise skin laxity. Profhilo is one of the most concentrated hyaluronic acid doses available on the market today (64mg HA per 2ml syringe).

It comprises both high (H-LA) and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (L-HA), which are thermally bonded together using unique NAHYCO technology. When the two forms of hyaluronic acid are combined, a product with significantly higher lifespan is created than if they were utilised separately.

While this may sound intimidating, hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It can also be found in foods such as root vegetables, soy, leafy greens, and citrus fruits such as oranges. For this reason, it’s one of the most often used ingredients in anti-aging and anti-wrinkle skin lotions.

To put it another way, it’s more like an ultra-effective injectable moisturiser than a filler. Profhilo is most commonly used on the face and neck, where wrinkles and drooping skin are most noticeable. It can, however, be used in any place where firmer, younger-looking skin is desired.

Profhilo is appealing because, unlike dermal fillers, it does not alter the form of the face; instead, it creates a fresh, natural appearance and softens fine lines and wrinkles. So the benefit is that you don’t appear ‘done.’

Which Areas Are Treatable With Profhilo?

Profhilo is particularly successful at treating loose skin in the neck, cheeks, and jowls, as well as other places that are notoriously difficult to treat with injectables, such as the:

  • Forehead
  • Temples
  • Mouth and chin lines
  • Neck, chest, and décolletage
  • Hands
  • Upper arms

Profhilo Treatment Procedure

The dermatologist will assess your suitability and look for any medical contraindications during your initial appointment. The beautiful thing about Profhilo is that it has no maximum age restrictions and few contraindications because it is a minimally invasive technique.

The collagen-boosting liquid is injected into five key spots on your face, called the Profhilo injection points, beginning directly next to the ears on each side, then the nasolabial fold (laughing lines around the mouth), chin, beneath the eyes, and on the tops of cheeks. Each side of the face receives the Profhilo.

The treatment causes a slight stinging sensation that lasts around 20 seconds. So it’ll be over before you realise! There is no downtime necessary because there are no apparent signs of repeated injections, so you may get back to your everyday tasks right away.

Only 2 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, yield noticeable results. The effects of treatment can last for up to 6 months.

How Fillers Can Tackle Wrinkles

SKIN TREATMENT

Medically reviewed by Eugenia Bonelli.

Most people think of dermal fillers for plumping and volumising effects in lips or cheeks, but these kinds of fillers are also highly effective at treating wrinkles.

If you are thinking about getting rid of your wrinkles, fillers are a non-invasive and non-permanent way to soften laughter lines, deep or fine forehead lines, or lines formed around the mouth and nose, giving you subtle, natural results.

If you’re interested in how dermal fillers treat wrinkles and lines and which of these they work best for, read on.

Book your free consultation now

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are made from a gel-like substance called hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that your skin produces to maintain plumpness and hydration. The process entails having small amounts of the gel injected just beneath your skin, targeting problem areas.

The great thing about fillers is that they can create quite a dramatic difference in your appearance without the need for surgery, or other more invasive procedures. After having fillers, your skin should look fresher, giving you a well-rested and rejuvenated look.

As the filler is injected, it’s important to have the treatment performed in a clinical setting with experienced, well-trained professionals. At DestinationSkin, we have highly qualified doctors and nurses at every one of our clinics and always work with your safety and wellbeing at the heart of our services.

What Causes Wrinkles Anyway?

As you age, your skin begins to thin out due to the lower production of collagen and elastin proteins.

This slowdown also causes the skin to become less resistant to damage, and the subcutaneous fat that sits under your skin (giving it its plump appearance) starts to diminish. Wrinkles tend to appear on your face in places where the skin naturally folds during facial expressions, like smiling or frowning.

Wrinkles also can develop on parts of the body that receive most sun exposure, such as the face and neck, back of the hands, and arms. UV light causes the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers to break down. The connective tissue that supports the skin is made up of these fibers. The skin gets weaker and less flexible when this layer breaks down and wrinkles form as the skin begins to droop.

When you are young, your skin is more elastic and springs back into shape. As you get older, the skin loses its flexibility, and it becomes more difficult for the skin to spring back, resulting in permanent lines.

Other factors will contribute to your skin showing signs of ageing, things like smoking, using sunbeds, drinking a lot of alcohol, poor nutrition and not staying hydrated.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work On Wrinkles?

Dermal fillers are specifically designed to reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles and to revitalise your skin.

The secret is that the fillers are based on hyaluronic acid (HA), a water-loving sugar molecule that binds water. In your body, HA acts as a lubricant, helps transport nutrients and regulates water balance.

Fillers Work by boosting your skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, which rejuvenates your skin, smoothing away lines and giving a fresh, natural result.

The HA used in our Juvederm® fillers closely resembles the hyaluronic acid your body produces itself, so it easily integrates with your own facial tissue.

Dermal fillers are a simple and non-invasive way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smoothing the skin and returning plumpness to your face. They give a natural look and don’t affect your facial expressions in any way.

As fillers aren’t permanent, fillers allow you to control your looks subtly as your face continues to change over time. Fillers work well on all face areas, softening lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows, around the eyes, crows feet and forehead lines. They can transform smokers lines and laughter lines.

Profhilo
SKIN TREATMENT

Medically reviewed by Eugenia Bonelli.

Profhilo® is a one-of-a-kind injectable hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that the body uses to retain water in the skin while also supporting the skin’s plumping collagen and elastin.

It has one of the highest hyaluronic acid concentrations on the market. It moisturises and lifts the skin, slowing the ageing process and restoring young brightness. Profhilo is touted to ‘bio-remodel’ the skin as well as provide moisture. It can elevate the skin and give a wonderfully renewing impact. The injection accomplishes this by stimulating collagen and elastin, which are responsible for the skin suppleness and firmness. Click here to read more about why hyaluronic acid is so effective.

But as Profhilo is now widely available online to purchase, we can imagine that you might wonder why you should choose to have it done professionally. This blog discusses the importance of having your treatment carried out by a professional. Read on to learn more.

Is Profhilo Safe?

Profhilo® is very biocompatible in terms of safety. This is because it is created from ultrapure, natural Hyaluronic Acid and is stabilised without the use of artificial cross-linking agents. This lowers the possibility of harmful effects.

If injected properly, side effects are uncommon. Profhilo’s adverse effects are identical to those of other forms of fillers and include minor bruising and swelling. The risks can include allergic reactions and infection, though these are very rare.

Profhilo Gone Wrong

If you’re wondering, “can Profhilo go wrong” then it’s reassuring to know the risks of something going wrong are extremely low when Profhilo is administered by someone who is suitably qualified and experienced, like our experts here at DestinationSkin. Profhilo injections, on the other hand, might be dangerous in unskilled hands, for example:

  • If the product is contaminated or injected incorrectly, it might cause serious skin responses. Rashes, excessive swelling, and ulcers are examples of these.
  • Infections caused by poor hygiene might result in lasting face scarring and potentially spread to other parts of your body.
  • If the individual administering the treatment does not sufficiently understand human anatomy, ‌the Profhilo could enter your bloodstream and obstruct it, lowering your blood supply. This may cause the death of the skin (necrosis) and blindness. If they hit an artery, it could result in a stroke.

We strongly advise you to have the injections administered by a properly trained and experienced healthcare practitioner (a doctor, nurse, or dentist). While Profhilo treatments are generally safe, they can be quite harmful in the hands of someone who is not both medically and cosmetically skilled.

Why Choose DestinationSkin For Your Profhilo Treatment

Before each treatment, you will meet with one of our experienced medical injectors for a consultation. Your skilled practitioner will be highly skilled and knowledgeable. They will make every effort to fully prepare you for your forthcoming treatment, including providing you with information guides, aftercare packets and answering any concerns you may have.

What Is Profhilo?

Profhilo is the first injectable hyaluronic acid (HA)-based skin laxity and crepiness treatment. It’s a skin-rejuvenation therapy that leaves you with a beautiful, glowing complexion. With a steady release of HA, this treatment will encourage the development of collagen and elastin, considerably improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

It has one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market, and it works by stimulating and moisturising the skin while also remodeling ageing and sagging tissue. Profhilo is appealing because, unlike dermal fillers, it does not alter the form of the face; instead, it creates a fresh, natural appearance and softens fine lines and wrinkles.

Profhilo doesn’t just work to improve the appearance of a single area (e.g., cheeks, lips, jaw line), but rather gives comprehensive facial rejuvenation for a healthy, radiant, and young appearance that will make you feel more you!

When Will I See Results From Profhilo?

Profhilo outcomes can be seen about 4 weeks following treatment and can last up to 6 months, however this depends on the person and can be longer or shorter.

You’ll notice a more youthful appearance across your skin, with fine lines and wrinkles smoothed out so they’re less obvious and a plumper complexion. We recommend a total of 3 treatments, spaced out every 4 weeks, for the best results.

Click here to discover all of the areas you can have the treatment.

Profhilo Aftercare

You can receive Profhilo treatment while going about your daily routine. However, after treatment, we recommend that you refrain from wearing cosmetics or touching your face. This will help to lower the chances of an infection.

It’s best to avoid physical exertion and sports for 24 hours after the therapy and wait 48 hours before having any more cosmetic treatments. Sauna or steamy baths are also not recommended for the first few days. If you have any bruising or swelling, it’s better to keep out of the sun.

Profhilo Side Effects

There are minimal risks with any injectable treatment, including bruising and swelling, infection, allergic response, vascular compromise, and nerve injury, however, IBSA (the pharmacy that makes Profhilo) claims these are uncommon.

Profhilo Lumps

There is a risk of bumps/lumps at the entry points and bruising as well but the probability of this is very low, most people leave the surgery without the slightest sign of having just had a needle go into their face 10 times.

How Long Do Profhilo Lumps Last

These lumps normally disappear within 4-6 hours of treatment, although they can linger up to 24 hours.

Click here to read more about why you should go to a specialist for your Profhilo treatment.

Is Profhilo Permanent?

Profhilo is not a long-term solution because it was created to work in conjunction with your body’s natural activities. It’s made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring chemical that helps your skin retain moisture by stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis.

As a result, the injected Profhilo gradually degrades over time. The effects of your Profhilo treatment can continue up to six months, though this varies from person to person.

DARK CIRCLES

TEAR TROUGH FILLER

Dark circles under the eyes can be inherently annoying. They make us question ourselves, that we’re not doing the right things: not sleeping enough, not using the right products, not eating well enough. We explore the causes of dark circles as well as the treatments we offer here at DestinationSkin to help!

dark undereye circles before and after

WHY DO DARK CIRCLES OCCUR?

Dark shadowing beneath the eyes occurs for a number of reasons, and no, you’re probably not actually that tired – which is a common misconception! In fact, fatigue isn’t the main cause of dark circles: hyperpigmentation is. Dr Toni Phillips, Group Medical Director at DestinationSkin tells us,  “Hyperpigmentation causes the darkening of your under eyes and many genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors can influence and increase your proneness to them.” (As seen in The Sunday Post).

Some environmental factors include smoking, diet, sun exposure, seasonal allergies and poor sleep, which can result in your eye area looking darker than usual. Genetics can also play a role, as some genetic traits can give you a predisposition to dark circles, such as having thin lower eyelid skin or faster aging processes. If your eyelid skin is thin, this means that the veins beneath are more visible, resulting in a darker appearance. Your age, and your inherited genes too, often influences your disposition in a similar way, as when your skin ages it loses its natural elasticity and begins to thin, which results in blood vessels and veins becoming more evident. Hayfever, or season allergies, can also darken your under eyes as nasal congestion leads to poor circulation to the lower eyelids, which results in your veins becoming bigger and darker – known as dilated veins.

Now we know why dark circles occur, we can explore how to get rid of them! Although, you cannot change your genetics, there are a few handy lifestyle tips can help lessen their appearance:

MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is always a first for getting better skin. This means keeping regular sleeping patterns, around 7-9 hours a night, and upholding a nutritious diet, which can both help improve your overall skin and health condition which never does any harm!

If you have reoccurring skin problems, you should take a look at your diet and see if there’s any foods that can help, Dr Toni explains. For example:

  • Foods rich in Vitamin K (leafy greens, spinach, broccoli) can help stimulate blood circulation, which can help lessen dark areas under the eyes and make the appearance of veins less prominent
  • Vitamin C (melons, oranges and tomatoes) are good for reducing acne breakouts and can elevate scarred, irritated or damaged skin
  • Onion, garlic and corn can help maintain the skins elasticity (which can help reduce any dark circles)
  • Omega-3 Acids (salmon and walnuts) can help sooth any inflammation and fights blemishes

For reducing dark circles making small lifestyle changes can make all the difference! By increasing your intake of fresh green veggies, not drinking as much caffeine and saying no that evening glass of red, can all help lift a darkened appearance. Whether it’s quitting smoking or exercise – doing anything you can to make yourself healthier can help to improve dark under eyes!

TRY A NEW REGIME

“If your skincare products aren’t doing anything to help lessen dark circles, a new regime is long overdue.” There are so many different products out there and it can be a bit overwhelming if you are unsure what will work, we recommend looking for products with the following ingredients:

  • Caffeine – with its anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive properties, it helps to narrow the blood vessels and calm the skin, temporarily reducing under eye bags
  • Hyaluronic Acid – the holy grail of skincare products, Hyaluronic Acid is the ultimate anti-ageing ingredient, it helps to firm, smooth and reduces the appearance of fine lines – and it’s all natural
  • Tri-peptides – the foundation of the skin, formed of proteins such as Collagen, Elastin and Keratin, which are responsible for maintaining the skins texture, strength and resilience
  • Ceramides – helps form, and protect, the skins barrier against irritants and pollutions whilst also keeping the skin hydrated

The only issue with skincare products is that their affect is temporary and consistent use is necessary to achieve better results. If you’re looking for a more permeant solution to resolve any dark circles, we offer a range of treatments here at DestinationSkin to help minimise their appearance.

SKIN TREATMENT

Are you becoming tired of painful rituals of shaving and waxing? Do razor burn, itchy regrowth and ingrown hairs leave you feeling down? Here at DestinationSkin we have the solution, along with some important need-to-knows and answers to most commonly asked FAQs.

Laser hair removal treatments are fast becoming one of the most highly demanded aesthetic procedures among those searching for a safe, effective and long-lasting method of hair reduction.

How does laser hair removal work?

The concept of laser hair removal centres around the principle of Selective Photothermolysis. Whilst this sounds complex, the fundamentals are easy to understand. Laser technology can be used to deliver specific wavelengths of light to an area of interest and cause highly selective heat damage.

In laser hair removal, the target areas are melanin-rich structures such as the hair shaft and bulb. When the laser pulses are targeted towards melanin, the light can only be absorbed by structures containing this pigment. The heat energy applied to the melanin-containing areas then diffuses into the immediate neighbouring tissue, causing damage to the hair follicle. This process inhibits future hair growth, providing the desired aesthetic outcome.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal does permanently change the hair growth environment by destroying existing hair follicles. This means that any future regrowth is often finer and less dense than before.

How long does laser hair removal last?

Whilst it depends on the individual, many people that undergo a course of laser hair removal treatments enjoy several months of smooth skin. Maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain the dramatic hair reduction results that can be achieved with DestinationSkin, and personalised advice on this is provided during a free consultation with one of our experts.

Is laser hair removal painful?

When laser hair removal is performed correctly, pain and discomfort are minimised. The hair removal lasers at DestinationSkin contain built-in cooling systems that prevent the skin from overheating. Although there is some discomfort associated with the procedure, it is usually described as less painful than waxing.

Is laser hair removal suitable for everyone?

It is a common misconception that those with darker skin tones are not suitable for laser hair removal treatments. However recent advancements in laser technology have improved accessibility of the procedure for those with darker skin tones.

Darker skin contains more of the pigment melanin and as we know, the hair removal laser is targeted towards the melanin in the hair. With outdated laser equipment this presents a challenge in that the dermal melanin competes with the hair for laser light. However, at DestiantionSkin our expert practitioners are able to adjust the laser to ensure that laser hair removal is effective for all skin tones.

Those with particularly fair hair may not be suitable for laser hair removal and this is considered on an individual basis during your free consultation. This is because fairer hair contains very little melanin for the laser to target, putting the skin at risk of burning, blistering or scarring.

What are the dangers of laser hair removal if not carried out correctly?

Poor technique and substandard equipment are no laughing matter when it comes to laser hair removal. At the least serious end of the spectrum this can lead to you achieving suboptimal results, attending sessions more frequently than necessary and paying more for your treatment overall. Whilst this would be frustrating, the consequences can be far more severe.

If laser hair removal treatments are not performed by appropriately trained experts, laser parameters such as the duration of the laser pulse, wavelength of light applied, and extent of epidermal cooling may not be adjusted properly and this can lead to ‘off-target’ absorption of laser light by the skin causing blistering, scarring and problems with pigmentation.
