With Valentine’s Day over for another year, for some people they’ll be sporting a new piece of jewellery after getting engaged on the most romantic day of the year. If you are set to be a bride here’s our guide to getting your skin ready for your big day:

Start now

The longer the build-up to your big day the better for your beauty planning. If you’ve always wanted to get married with long flowing locks, it’s going to take time to grow them! Many brides use their wedding as an opportunity to finally straighten those teeth; to fix that birthmark that has always annoyed them; to address the problem areas of skin they just can’t seem to shake. The earlier you start tackling these long-term problems the better, if you want to be at your most beautiful on your wedding day.

Set your goals

If you want to shed a few pounds before the big day, then making gradual changes to your diet over time is better for you (and your skin) than a last-minute crash diet. Set yourself a realistic and achievable goal that won’t cause you unnecessary stress and keep moisturising your skin as your shape changes to help avoid any stretch marks. Switch tea and coffee for plenty of water and green tea, to help flush out toxins and provide antioxidant support. Make sure what you eat is balanced and nutritious with plenty of vitamins and minerals including Vitamin E and Omega 3 which will help keep your skin, nails and hair looking their best.

Put your skin first

It can take a long time to resolve issues with your skin and the best approach to making changes is a gentle one. Whatever you do, you definitely don’t want to bombard your skin with treatments and new products too close to your wedding day.

If you suffer from acne or even dry patches, consider starting a course of customised facials in the run-up to your big day. Whilst a single treatment will have an instant refining result, doing a series of treatments will ease the symptoms and leave you with healthy looking skin.

If you’d like to smooth those crow’s feet, seek advice about Botox and fillers and try out the treatment at least six months before your wedding so you are guaranteed the results you want nearer your big day. Our Destination Skin practitioners are trained in achieving soft, smooth skin with our range of anti-wrinkle injections.

We’ll also be able to give you advice on how to tackle any areas of pigment, be it freckling or damaged skin, there are very successful treatments available.

It’s not just treatments though, you can make a really good start towards having great skin, from the comfort of your own home. Get into a routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising with quality products twice-a-day.

Perfect your pout

Talk to your dentist about achieving that picture-perfect smile and consider a whitening treatment to remove stains and restore those pearly whites. Closer to your wedding how about also considering lip fillers to give you a perfect pout for those all-important wedding photos.

Hair free and hassle free

To ensure you feel as beautiful as possible on your big day, do a course of laser hair removal treatments to be fuzz-free for your wedding, your honeymoon and beyond. Treatments are now available for all skin tones and you should begin them at least six months before your wedding day. You may need anything from between three and six sessions for full removal and time in-between sessions so best start early.

Stick to your plan

There’s no denying that planning a wedding is tough – but if you want great skin you’ll need to make the time and ensure that you do all you can to look the best you can. Come and see us today and we can do a full skin consultation to work with you as your big day approaches.
