HydraFacial Treatment: The 6 Steps to Better Skin

What makes HydraFacial so unique are the six steps that leave you with the most beautiful skin. Discover how each one works to give you a brighter, healthier complexion and be assured of the innovative power of each HydraFacial treatment.

What is HydraFacial treatment?

HydraFacial treatment is a professional facial that uses patented technology to brighten and correct a range of skin concerns. Even the most sensitive, acne prone or problematic skin issues can be improved after just one treatment – with visible results!

It is inclusive of all skin tones and skin conditions and helps to treat a range of concerns including:

At DestinationSkin, we offer a selection of HydraFacial treatments, from our new, exclusive Platinum range – including collaborations with branded products and high quality formulas – to our acne collection, for soothing inflamed, angry skin.

What is included in a HydraFacial?

Included in every treatment are six advanced HydraFacial steps. These are:

  • Detox

The treatment begins by increasing lymph circulation by using a pressurised suction device to replace new fluid in the lymph nodes (‘lymph’ is derived from the Latin word ‘water’). The lymphatic system is the network responsible for transporting lymph – a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells – around the body.

Lymph expels toxins and can be sluggish because of the amount of external aggressors it faces, such as bacteria and viruses. By improving lymphatic circulation, you eliminate toxins and improve skin health, blood flow, hydration, firmness and oxygen levels to rejuvenate the skin.

  • Cleanse and Exfoliate

This two-in-one process features a cleansing serum to deeply exfoliate the skin. It works by using a HydraFacial device to gently lift away any dead skin cells, excess oil and debris. The skin is then covered in a cleansing, botanical serum with skin renewing nutrients like, lactic acid, white tea and antioxidants. Levels of ingredients are altered in order to address your specific skin concern.

  • Brighten and Refresh

The third stage works to revitalise and decongest the skin by flooding it with natural, brightening acids and natural extracts, such as glycolic and salicylic acid. Salicylic and glycolic acids improve the brightening, reflective nature of the skin by removing dead skin cells which dullen your complexion.

  • Extraction

Step four is a painless, satisfying extraction of further impurities. Organic honey and salicylic acid is used again to thoroughly extract and hydrate the pores, promoting a youthful, firmer skin structure.

  • Hydrate

Deeply hydrating the skin is essential in every treatment, so once your skin has been cleansed, purified and brightened, replenishing it with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and peptides will leave your skin glowing.

Peptides and hyaluronic acid have anti-ageing properties which helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Stimulate

The final stage of HydraFacial’s unique, radiance-boosting technology leaves your skin rejuvenated. This stage differs from the rest as it is light-based.

Multiple light waves are absorbed into the skin to help stimulate the production of the fundamental, anti-ageing protein, collagen. The light device also activates the production of Vitamin D, which helps destroy the free radicals responsible for premature ageing.

What to expect after HydraFacial?

Once you have completed each step, you will experience minimal side effects and no down time – just glowing, refreshed skin!

After every session, you can expect your practitioner to provide you with the best aftercare advice in order to reap HydraFacial’s full benefit.

For every client’s unique skin type, there is a bespoke treatment plan available including pre-treatment and post-treatment recommendations and products.

Once your facial is complete, it is advised to avoid sun beds, topical retinoids and depilatory  creams as these may increase the likelihood of pigmentation or irritation.

If you are prescribed acne topical creams, or any other facial creams to treat a chronic skin condition, express this to your practitioner who will confirm whether it is safe to use afterwards or discontinue.

Always apply SPF in the following days after a HydraFacial as this is best practice for protecting and preventing recurrent damage to your skin.

The final advice is to simply enjoy your new, brighter and glowing complexion!
