Obagi® Nuderm is a prescription only skincare range, ideal for the following concerns:

Obagi Nuderm is a treatment that can be used to treat areas that have suffered from excessive sun damage and as a result have areas of excessive pigmentation and fine lines.  This treatment is also effective against excessive pigmentation realted to acne.

How Does it Work?

It takes as long as 5-6 weeks for your skin to fully regenerate, with the tough outer layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, acting as an impenetrable barrier protecting the body from injury, infection, pollution and the ever more harmful sun rays. The outer layer of the skin also acts as a diary of sorts, recording any past events like severe sunburn or acne scarring, and becoming thicker with the passing years. Because the skin takes so long to regenerate, these old memories are never removed, and the fresh new skin is never given the chance to come to the surface.

With the process of treatments and at home care we are speeding up the regeneration of the skin and are allowing the healthy new skin to come to the surface.

What makes the Obagi system so special are it’s active ingredients hydroquinone and tretinoin. Hydroquinone stops the melanocytes in the skin from producing any more pigment and the tretinoin, which is a Vitamin A based ingredient, takes out any excess pigmentation already in the skin as well as removing wrinkles and rejuvenating the skin. The whole system exfoliates the skin, and the unique patented Deep Penetrating system takes these ingredients much deeper than any other treatment.

What Does The Treatment Include?

The treatment conists of a course of 7 products that are applied to the areas to be treated on a daily basis. This usually replaces your usual daily skincare regime.  The 7 products consits of:

1. Cleanser

2. Toner

3. Clear (Hydroquinone)

4. Exfoderm

5. Blender

6. Tretinoin

7. Sunfader

The treatment includes a full consultation with a Doctor/Nurse with reagards to suitability for Obagi Nuderm.  The products are then prescribed and the treatment can be commenced at your lesuire at home.

A reivew is carried out in weekly intervals to ensure the results are satisfactory and the client has achieved their desired results.  After the desired result has been achieved a maintenance program will then be introduced which uses the same products but at a reduced frequency.

How Does The Treatment Work?

The products all act together to improve the condition of the skin.  The main principle behine the treatment is the Hydroquinone surpresses the pigment formation in the new skin, the tretinoin and the exfoderm act to increase the shedding of the older top layer of skin.  This brings the younger, less pigmented skin to the surface and therefore can help to reduce areas of increased pigmentation.  As your top layer of skin sheds, the younger skin coming through will appear younger and tighter with fewer lines and wrinkles.

WWat Results Should I Expect?

After the completed course and recommended treatment time, your skin will appear clearer, brighter and more youthful.  Fine lines and wrinkles will be dramatically reduced and you’ll have a more even skin tone.

The course includes 7 products to be used every day.  This may sound excessive, but the regime will be apart of your daily skin care.  Peeling can occur when on the Obagi Nuderm course. Regular reviews will be conducted to ensure the correct strength and frequency of products being used.  Areas can become irritated if you over use the products.
