At DestinationSkin, we are proud to offer advanced solutions that work. Whether you suffer from excessive hair growth or just want to stop regularly shaving & waxing, Electrolysis is an FDA approved hair removal method, designed to stop hair growth impacting your life.
How does it work?
Electrolysis is a precision hair removal procedure suitable for small areas of hair growth. An electric current is applied to the hair follicle, destroying the follicle on contact to prevent any future growth.
How often do I need to have a treatment?
Regular treatments will get the best results. You will need to have treatments every 2 – 4 weeks. Your practitioner will advise on the optimal number of treatments to get permanent hair removal, however you will start to see an improvement after a couple of sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Does Electrolysis hurt?
Most clients describe it as a mild warming sensation. Our practitioners are highly skilled, and will adapt your treatment to suit each individual client.
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my treatment?
You should limit any sort of hair removal that involves removing the hair from the root for at least six weeks before treatment, such as plucking, waxing, and electrolysis. For best results, remember to shave the area to be treated about 1-3 days before each treatment. You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment; we are not able to give IPL hair removal treatments to people with active tans.
What happens after the treatment?
Some clients will experience mild redness or swelling immediately following their electrolysis, however your skin will return to normal the following day.
