At DestinationSkin, safety is our standard. We are rigorous in our commitment to safety meaning that every time you visit us, you can be certain that you’re in safe hands.
We’ve recently read about someone falsely claiming to be a nurse from the Liverpool area who’s been injecting the public with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections from her front room. With no record of her qualification at the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) this individual shouldn’t have been offering these treatments. Only registered doctors, dentists & nurse prescribers are qualified to administer anti-wrinkle injectable treatments.
Unfortunately, from time to time issues like this crop up and cause ripples of panic to flow through members of the public. We don’t want you to fall into the same trap that her clients unwittingly have, so we’ve put together some advice to arm you & help guide your decision making. So, if you’re planning to undergo advanced skin treatments, we recommend that do a bit of homework first. Trust us you won’t regret it.
Ask your provider the following three questions, and if they’re reputable they’ll happily produce documents to prove it:
What qualifications do you have? Are you accredited by any professional bodies? What products will be used?
At DestinationSkin, safety is our standard. We are rigorous in our commitment to safety meaning that every time you visit us, you can be certain that you’re in safe hands. We’re incredibly proud of our proven track record and will happily offer the following answers to prove our suitability:
What qualifications do you have?
The General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC) and the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) require all registered Doctors, Dentists & Nurse Prescribers (respectively) to comply with their professional standards. At DestinationSkin we go above & beyond. All members of our clinical team (Doctors, Dentists & Nurse Prescribers) are put through rigorous trade tests ensuring that they conform not only to the professional requirements, but also our more stringent expectations. We accept nothing less than the best amongst our clinical team.
Is the provider accredited by any professional bodies?
We are accredited by the Independent Healthcare Advisory Service (IHAS), the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) and by the Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW). Each of our 18 clinics are subject to rigorous audits from these bodies to ensure that we meet the recommended levels of safety & hygiene.
What products will be used?
Finally, we use only the leading, most trusted brands, equipment and products that are clinically proven to ensure patient safety & efficacy. We work with our manufacturers directly to offer advanced product training to our staff and we visit their production facilities to ensure premium quality and controls. I was recently invited to visit the Juvéderm factory with Kay Davies (Head of Compliance at DestinationSkin) and Dr Toni Phillips (Clinical Director at DestinationSkin). This site produces the world’s supply of the Juvéderm products that have been helping men & women age the way they want for over 20 years. The meticulous quality controls & cleanliness in place there mean that each and every syringe of filler is visually inspected to ensure 100% quality control is met. Daily safety standards & checks there include clinical testing & trials, making it crystal clear why Juvéderm are the gold standard & most trusted dermal fillers in the industry. Simply put, if your treatment provider cannot tell you where they’ve sourced the product from & explain the manufacturing process, you should be wary about the quality. At the end of the day, injectable treatments are, well, injected into your skin.
If you choose DestinationSkin for injectable treatments then you can be confident that we’ve accepted nothing less than the best.
