Come and take a peek behind the scenes at our brand new clinic on Lower Temple Street. Just minutes from Birmingham New Street station, it’s the place for advanced aesthetic skincare treatments, right in the middle of town.
Hollie Mckenzie, Clinic Manger, talks about the move, what’s brilliant in Birmingham, and what’s special about our very latest clinic….
Hi Holly, so you’re heading up our team on Lower Temple Street. Tell us a bit more?
It’s a really exciting move. We’ve enjoyed great success out at Pavilions, but since the £600m refurbishment at Birmingham New Street, we’ve been keen to move closer to the centre. Now we’re providing high-end, results focused treatments for everything from excess hair to premature ageing, all right here in town.
So you’re handy for the station, and of course, the Bullring – but what else is near by?
We’re near Coast and Flannels, and right next door to Starbucks – which is really handy if you’re having a lunch break treatment, you can just grab a sandwich on your way back to the office. And being so close to the station is hopefully going to be really helpful for our busy commuting clients – we open until 6pm most days, 7pm on Wednesday and 8pm on Thursday, so there’ll be appointments to fit around work.
What kind of treatments will you offer?
The whole DestinationSkin range of advanced skin solutions. So that might be helping some clients with specific concerns like skin tags, excessive hair for all skin types, or unwanted veins, or it could be helping others look amazing with peels and microdermabrasion. We also help with injectables and subtle but effective treatments for ageing skin.
Birmingham has a wide range of cultures and ethnicities – around 60% non-white, and we’ve always been passionate about expertly treating all skin tones. Now we’re really excited about becoming the leading Birmingham city centre clinic for skin types 1-6 (see our fitzpatrick scale below), with a focus on permanent hair removal on black skin, scarring on dark skin tones, and acne solutions for black and asian skin.
So what kind of treatments do you offer across all skin tones?
A full range. Kristina and Liz are the most experienced practitioners when it comes to helping darker skin tones with excess hair, acne, scarring and pigmentation. That said, everyone is experienced and fully trained.
We’re asked about laser on black and asian skin tones a lot. It is possible, but it takes expertise and the right technology – all of which is available at our new clinic. The team are highly trained and we welcome any client into our clinic who wish to find out more, ask questions and to receive a free patch test.
Do you have any other specialities at the Lower Temple Street clinic?
Absolutely! For clients who’d like to stop the clock on who they are right now, I’m our anti-ageing specialist, though the team are all well-practiced. We’re supported by the clinical team for our injectable treatments. And everyone here has their specific interests…
